Christmas day

We spent Christmas in Pocatello with my family this year & it is always fun to get together with my siblings. The grand kids are always excited to spend time with each other now that three of the five families live out of state. Grandma Jeanne gathered the 8 grand kids that were in Pocatello together and had them frost sugar cookies the day before Christmas Eve, it was so much fun! Parker sent a letter to Santa requesting four things for Christmas and hoping for a little extra if he was a good boy. Connor is still too young to really care what he gets as ling as he can still play with Parker's toys. It is a family tradition since I was a little girl to have our big family party on Christmas Eve where we all got to open one present from Uncle Dave (always new PJ's and slippers) and then all gather together in our family Suburban to go look at lights before coming home and getting ready for bed. And so the tradition has been passed down to our kids, we all opened our new jammies and slippers and gathered together in a train of cars to go look at lights. Parker rode with his cousin Bailei in Grandma Jeanne's car and Connor was asleep as soon as we started the car.
Getting my boys to settle down to try to get some sleep was almost impossible, even the old trick "If you aren't asleep when Santa comes to the house, he will just pass right on by and not stop to leave you toys" didn't work tonight. I think it was 10:30 before they finally passed out. Interestingly enough it was I who had the hard time sleeping in until 7:30. I kept waking up every half hour from 4 O'clock until Parker eventually woke us up to go see what Santa had left.
The kids were adorable with anticipation to walk into the family room to their piles of presents. Parker was excited about his new Rescue Heroes, Bakugans, space shuttle and most of all his new Nintendo DS. Connor was so fun to watch open each present, we could have wrapped up his old toys and he would have been just as happy, he just wanted to unwrap everything. It took us all day to get everything opened (I think we finished about 1) and then we spent the rest of the day playing with family and new toys. It was a fun Christmas and I am especially happy that I was a good enough girl to deserve a new laptop from Santa. I hope that your Holiday was enjoyable as well and that you were blessed to spend time with loved ones too. Merry Christmas.
